Healthier Rosh Hashanah Recipes

Hello there my friend!

Rosh Hashanah is just a couple of weeks away, so it's time to start planning in earnest! See below for my favourite YomTov dishes that are both festive and also healthy choices.

Shabbat recipe of the week - Grilled peach salad with pecans and feta

Stone fruits are at the peak of their season around now, and this gorgeous salad is a simple and delicious way to enjoy them.

Soft, sweet, smoky grilled peach slices are combined with crispy lettuce, salty feta, and crunchy toasted pecans. It's incredibly good, especially since it uses just a handful of ingredients! Prepare the separate elements in advance and combine when you're ready to serve. Perfection!

Plant-based recipes for Rosh Hashanah

Although my family is not completely vegan, the vast majority of what we eat is plant based, with a heavy emphasis on seasonal produce, whole grains, pulses and legumes, plus flavour enhancing herbs and spices. Adopting a whole food plant based (WFPB) approach helps to ensure a healthy, nutritious and balanced diet.

If you'd like to add more plants to your Rosh Hashanah meals, I've created a guide to vegan Rosh Hashanah. While we tend to think of plant-based eating as a modern phenomenon, these vegan dishes all reflect long-standing Jewish traditions for the New Year, and offer a kinder, healthier way to celebrate. I hope you'll consider adding one or more of them to your menus!

Whatever you choose to cook, I wish you Shana Tova - a wonderful and sweet year ahead!
