Shabbat Shalom & Chag Sameach!

Hello again my friend!

I hope you have had a lovely Pesach (Passover) so far. We've hosted seders large and small, plus numerous other meals both with guests and without. And still more to come over the next few days, Shabbat and YomTov!

If, like us, you have almost two whole roots of horseradish left 😳 and are wondering what to do with them, I've gathered together some ideas here. You'll find a dozen suggestions including main dishes, sides, salads, and even drinks!

Delicious dishes for the second half of Pesach (Passover)

You probably already have your menus planned for the days ahead, but here's some of what we'll be enjoying here at FFF towers:

  • Hasselback potatoes
They look gorgeous, taste delicious, and have lots of extra crispy bits thanks to the way they're cut. A potato favourite!
  • Matza brie
A fabulous Pesach brunch/lunch/tea and also a great way to use up the remains of the matza in the next few weeks.
  • Salade chevre chaud
With warm baked sweet potato slices and tangy goats cheese this hearty salad makes a wonderful dinner.
  • Roasted scalloped sweet potatoes
Simple, beautiful, delicious, and a wonderful alternative when you're sick of the sight of 'regular' potatoes!!
  • Tenderstem with garlic almond sauce
I'm serving this cold as a salad as part of a buffet style lunch, but it also works well as a hot side dish or even as a starter.
  • Lemon almond cake
Although the recipe calls for lavender, I'll be leaving it out to make a moist, fragrant and sweet lemon cake, to serve with fresh berries as a simple and elegant dessert.
  • Fruit salad
We eat SO much fruit salad! (At any time of year!) Although I was thinking I might add a splash of Sabra orange liqueur to the Pesach version. Delicious!

Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach!

I hope you don't mind me appearing in your inbox a day early. Don't worry, today is ONLY Wednesday! I just wanted to get in early before the next cooking marathon begins!

And once again I wish you a Good Shabbos and a very Good YomTov - Shabbat Shalom and Chag Pesach Sameach.

May the coming festive days bring peace, happiness, freedom and only good things, for the Jewish people and everyone around the world.

With love, Helen x.
